New Project: Les Cimenteries de la Basse Guinée – Groundbreaking

On 8 April 2019, the foundation stone was laid for the new cement grinding plant “Les Cimenteries de la Basse Guinée” in Kamsar, Guinea. The ceremony was celebrated in the presence of high-ranking members of the government, leading personalities of the client and the managing director of Intercem, Olaf Michelswirth, with two of his employees and the active participation of the population. With the help of large-format layouts, Intercem was able to demonstrate to the visitors what the grinding plant will look like. The speakers emphasized the importance of the project for the further economic development of the West African country. The aim is to supply the Boké region with sufficient cement at a favourable price. In addition, the plant will create 80 direct jobs and several hundred indirect jobs. Mansa Moussa Sidibé, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Les Cimenteries de la Basse Guinée, confirmed that this plant would make it possible to supply Guinea and neighbouring countries with high-quality cement. The start of construction is now eagerly awaited.
