Location: Sharjah Cement Factory, United Arab Emirates
Scope of service:
- New raw material transport and new metering
- New 5-stage heat exchanger with calciner
- Reduction of kiln length from 159 m to 51 m
- New installation of a tertiary air duct
- New clinker cooler with dedusting filter
- New clinker conveyor assemblies
- New electrics and automation
Time taken: 16 months in total (incl. technical clarification)
Production stop: 10 weeks
Acting as a general contractor, Intercem supplied all the required engineering work, as well as all mechanical and electrical equipment on a turn-key basis. The project was completed successfully within the agreed timeframe. The customer was so satisfied with the results that it commissioned Intercem to supply a new raw mill, which was also planned, assembled and handed over on schedule – meeting all the customer’s expectations.
